Allyson Brekke, AICP

“Allyson Brekke, AICP, is currently a Manager at Matrix Consulting Group, a local government consulting firm that is headquartered in California with employees located across the country (three currently in the Rocky Mountain West). She co-leads the Community Development practice in Matrix and is helping jurisdictions improve their development review and permitting processes, increase technology efficiencies, and ensure staffing capacity are at sustainable levels and policy procedures are in place. Prior to Matrix, she was the Deputy Planning Director for Gallatin County and helped to improve the Planning Department’s development review procedures for continued growth and obtained grant funding for the County’s first strategic housing plan. She also served as the Director of Community & Economic Development for the City of Port Angeles, WA and was with that organization for over 5 years. Allyson’s passion is to ensure that local government experiences are positive for the community members they are serving. While juggling her professional responsibilities, she is a mother of two active children, ages 6 and 11, and the wife of one of the many Minnesotans that moved to big sky country. Outdoor play and rigorous exercise is her mantra for stress release from her demanding work. Allyson’s love of dynamic and hard working communities and craving for great outdoor adventures is why she and her family returned to Montana.”
