Call For Presenters!
Dear planning Experts, Practitioners, and Enthusiasts…
The Montana Association of Planners (MAP), a Chapter of the American Planning Association, is delighted to announce the Call for Presentations at our upcoming conference, scheduled for October 6-8, 2025 in Helena, Montana at the Great Northern Hotel. This event serves as a collaborative platform for sharing knowledge, fostering discussions, and promoting excellence in planning within the unique context of Montana. The overarching theme of this year’s conference is “Deeply Rooted, Boldly Growing – Montana’s Planning Legacy”. We hope you can join us at the Queen City of the Rockies!

We encourage presentations that showcase cutting-edge research, successful case studies, and emerging trends in rural, urban, and transportation planning throughout Montana. Special consideration will be given to sessions focusing on the following topics:
– Planning for Equitable and Affordable Housing
– Public Engagement and Outreach
– State Legislative and Policy Development
– Planning Impacts on the Environment and natural Resources
The conference is soliciting topics for required AICP Certification Maintenance (CM) credits. CM credit topics are Law; Ethics; Equity; and Sustainability and Resilience. Please review APA requirements for CM-education providers.
The conference consists of different types of sessions that can vary from abbreviated sessions that are combined with similar topics to deep dive sessions.
- Abbreviated sessions can consist of multiple presenters who speak for 15 minutes a piece. You can propose a complete panel or we will pair you with a speaker on a related topic.
- Standard sessions are an hour long that include the presentation and time for questions.
- Deep dive sessions can range from 2.5 hours to 4 hours.
If you have an idea that doesn’t fit this time length format, please share it with us.
Important Dates: The deadline for submitting proposals is May 31st, 2025. Late proposals will be considered as space allows. Notification regarding the acceptance of your proposal will be provided by mid-June.
