Area-level Land Use Planner for the Northwestern Land Office. The incumbent manages land use planning activities, projects, priorities and objectives of the Area, and identifies and manages opportunities for obtaining the highest and best use of State trust lands. The incumbent develops comprehensive land use plans for the Area, implements and coordinates local land-use regulations, and conducts public facilities planning/financing associated with the development of State trust lands necessary to maximize long­ term revenue. The incumbent also coordinates the sale and/or exchange of lands when beneficial to the trust fund, provides technical expertise and assistance to resolve complex problems related to land use management including issues associated with growth policies, comprehensive planning, subdivision law and site design, land surveying, zoning, floodplain regulations, and infrastructure planning. Land use planning expertise is provided to Area staff, local government planners and officials, planning boards, realtors, developers, attorneys, engineers, and others involved in community development. This position reports to the Northwestern Land Office Trust Lands Program Manager. The incumbent functions independently in the execution of major duties and is directly responsible for decisions made and actions taken.
