Request for Proposals for Community Wildfire Protection Plan

The City of Whitefish, Montana, is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to prepare an updated Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). The plan should include a delineation of the Wildland Urban Interface, identification of high-risk areas, wildfire response strategies, community preparedness priorities, firefighting capabilities, areas of insufficient water pressure, feasible evacuation routes, emergency notification processes, and recommendations for hazardous fuel treatments. The updated CWPP will be based on a new wildfire risk assessment, identify mitigation strategies, and provide recommendations for future land use patterns. The planning process will include active citizen participation and coordination with County, State, and Federal agencies. The final plan will be incorporated into the City’s Growth Policy in accordance with the Montana Land Use Planning Act.
